Address Book Importer is most definitely the best way to take contacts exported from Gmail and get them imported in to the OSX address book application. Works like a charm and with very little intervention. Totally worth the price: freeware.

Finally went out on that limb and grabbed a new Mac. Opted for a 2.4Ghz MacBookPro with the 15.4 anti-glare screen. The weight difference between the 15.4 and the 17 is so substantial that it is not even a question. Since it will be plugged in to a monitor at home, no need for a 17” screen methinks. So far quite happy. Off to buy parrallels and an Apple bluetooth keyboard. uNF!
