U.S. Navy Aims to Have Fire-Damaged USS George Washington in Japan by Late September
The Navy hopes to fix a fire-damaged aircraft carrier that sparked protests over safety fears in time to have it arrive in its new home port in Japan in late September. Relatively minor structural repairs are necessary before the ship can go to Yokosuka.
