Japanese Automakers Surpass Big Three to Top U.S. Market Aales in July
Eight Japanese car manufacturers took a combined 43 percent share of new vehicle sales in the U.S. in July, surpassing the 42.7 percent share of the Big Three U.S. automakers, market figures have shown.
Figures released by Autodata Corp. showed that the eight Japanese companies sold a combined 488,226 vehicles during July, nearly 3,000 more than the 485,289 sold by General Motors, Ford and Chrysler.
